We are proud to introduce you to the Lokinwi Body Mind and Spirit Festival, taking place at The Canvas Riversands, to be held on 14th and 15th September 2019 – 08h00 – 18h00
Some of the biggest names in South Africa from the alternative health, wellness and lifestyle arena will be speaking at our event. People such as Rod Suskin, Donna McCallum, Christine Stormer-Fryer and Luis Falcao will be on our speaker stages.
You may know Hilda de la Rosa, the Festival’s founder and CEO. She has been involved in the body mind and spirit industry for more than 30 years. She created Elandor, one of the first healing centres in the country, which was based in Cape Town way back in the mid 1990’s and in 1999, she founded the well-loved and highly respected Namasté magazine, which was nationally circulated in SA, with subscribers from many countries around the world. As founder of Namasté magazine, Hilda hosted and sponsored several body mind and spirit festivals.
The Lokinwi Body Mind and Spirit Festival should not be confused with a small, localised fair or market. As is Hilda’s way, she has elevated the status of the industry by creating South Africa’s first formal festival, which should actually be considered more of a trade fair to showcase the cream of the crop of this multi million rand industry.
Everyone who is anyone in this industry will be exhibiting, advertising in the festival’s magazine, speaking, participating in demonstrations, or attending. We already have participants from as far afield as Spain – attesting to Hilda’s reputation.
We have invited the healing modalities’ schools, associations or trainers, rather than individual practitioners and many will be represented: Reki, Reflexology, NLP, Body Stress Release and Colour Mirrors, to name a few.
We have approached manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of products and services that cater to the above healing modalities and those who supply the various body mind and spirit centres and retail stores to exhibit their products and services so other retailers may become their customers.
We are working really hard to get the various venues and conference facilities on board, since many people who host workshops will either be exhibiting or attending. At the very least, we trust that many venues will advertise in our magazine, which we know will be a one-stop reference resource.
Schools and studios teaching movement modalities such as Yoga, Pilates, Overtone Chanting, Zumba, Drumming, and Boidanza will be demonstrating their skills.
We are in the process of signing up exhibitors who represent the natural health industry as well as the vegan and vegetarian suppliers, wholesalers and manufacturers. Not forgetting our eco-warriors, who will be represented as well.
This Festival will set the bar for all future festivals in South Africa. The response we have had thus far has been phenomenal.
